History of Scientific Circle of Veterinary Students

History of Scientific Circle of Veterinary Students dates back to 1927, when Senate of Warsaw University, in reply to the proposal of Medical Faculty Council, established Veterinary Faculty. The first Chairman of Scientific Circle of Veterinary Students was Heliodor Różycki-Szwejkowski (later professor of pathology on Warsaw Veterinary Faculty). Until the beginning of the Second World War the function was performed by: Stanisław Kirkor, Jerzy Zuberbier, Edward Szyfelbein, Aleksander Dziżyński and Stanisław Janiszewski. The Circle was allowed to publish series of lectures, distribute scholarships and accommodations in a dormitory, even to collect money by organizing dances.

Along with the end of the Second World War the Scientific Circle of Veterinary Students was re-established. Stefan Tarczyński and then Marcin Szulc had performed the function of the Chairman since 1947 till 1953 when the Circle was closed down by communist regime.
